Australian College of Cosmetic Nursing

The Australian College of Cosmetic Nursing (ACCN) is dedicated to fostering education, ethical practice, and professional development in cosmetic nursing. The College supports practitioners by providing opportunities for networking, training, and guidance, with a focus on adhering to Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and regulatory guidelines.

 

Our Mission

The College aims to ensure that practitioners are well-informed and prepared to deliver patient-centred care within ethical and professional standards. Membership and training are guided by the following principles of:

  • Adherence to all NMBA standards and guidelines.
  • A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and ethical conduct.
  • A focus on understanding the psychological aspects of care, including the management of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD).
  • Ongoing training in managing complications and emergencies in cosmetic treatments.

Founding Leadership

Stephanie Murray, the founding president of ACCN, brings decades of experience in nursing and cosmetic treatments. Her background includes:

  • Certification in intensive care nursing.
  • Leadership as Director of Nursing at a Class B Day Hospital.
  • Regular participation in educational workshops and global conferences to remain informed of developments in cosmetic medicine.
