See All Before & AfterIMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please be aware that you must have a GP referral before booking a consultation with Dr. Glenn Murray (MED0001196978) Registered Medical Practitioner with specialist registration in general practice. Consultations can be booked online, or by contacting our reception team.
Cosmetic Surgery Information
Before the first consultation, a GP referral must be obtained. Once your 1st consultation has been booked, you will receive a pre-consultation video via SMS or email. This video is designed to highlight key aspects of the procedure along with potential risks and complications, in accordance with informed consent requirements. At your consultation, you’ll complete a validated BDD questionnaire, which will be assessed during your consultation with Dr. Murray. Dr. Murray will also provide and review all relevant consent forms to ensure you are fully informed about the procedure and can make an informed decision. These initial consultations are essential for ensuring you understand all aspects of the procedure. Following your 2nd consultation, there is a 7-day cooling-off period. After this period, a deposit of $2,200 is required to book a procedure date should you choose. This protocol is in place to ensure informed decision-making.
Before your Surgery
You will receive your quotation and financial consent form via email, accompanied by a digital procedure pack (in two parts) to prepare for your surgery. This procedure pack will include a checklist, your procedure schedule, pathology referral, prescriptions, consent forms and important information. It is important to thoroughly review these materials. A pre-operative call and information video are also scheduled to address any further questions and to prepare you for the surgery.
After your Surgery
Post-operative care is crucial during the recovery process. For the first 24 hours after your procedures, you need to have someone with you, including transport from the facility and overnight care. Your first post-operative review (the following morning), along with suture removal (if applicable) and the 1-month follow-up, will take place in person at our Nedlands clinic. Other post-op reviews may be conducted via video, as scheduled, to ensure ongoing support and monitoring of your recovery. For any urgent concerns or emergencies, we provide a 24/7 aftercare number for immediate assistance.

Preparing for Surgery
You must arrive on time to be fully admitted by the medical team.
It is imperative to strictly avoid smoking, vaping, and illicit drug use before, during, and after the procedure. Nicotine consumption during the surgical process heightens the risk of complications, infection, delayed healing, or an unsatisfactory cosmetic outcome.
All patients are required to adhere to the following pre-operative and post-operative guidelines:
Please note that we maintain a stringent cancellation policy for those who continue to smoke or vape and fail to adhere to compulsory guidelines. We advise all patients to cease smoking, vaping, and passive smoking at least four weeks prior to the procedure and for six to eight weeks post-operatively.
Reducing nicotine intake alone does not eliminate the risk of complications; the best way to minimise risks and improve surgical outcomes is to quit smoking entirely. We strongly encourage the use of nicotine cessation aids during this period to support your efforts to quit. For more detailed information about potential complications and guidance on quitting smoking, please refer to the provided resource.
It is important to note that if you have smoked, vaped, or been exposed to passive smoking within the last four weeks prior to your procedure, your surgery will be cancelled, and any payment made will not be refunded.
To ensure your readiness for the procedure, being in good health is essential. It is crucial to avoid blood-thinning medications.
- NO ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES: Please DO NOT take any aspirin, Nurofen (ibuprofen), vitamin E, fish oil, green tea, turmeric, or other anti-inflammatory medications for ten (10) days prior to your procedure.
Additionally, a blood test should be conducted at least two weeks (base bloods) or at least four weeks (cotinine nicotine test, if applicable) before the scheduled procedure. A nurse will go through an extensive checklist to ensure that you are well-prepared via a pre-operative call before your procedure day.
Pre-op Reminders
- ALLERGIES: Please ensure you inform Dr Murray of any allergies you have to medication, latex, Betadine, Chlorhexidine, or sticking plasters/tapes.
- ANTIBACTERIAL WASH: A thorough Chlorhexidine body and hair wash (antibacterial) is necessary the morning of the procedure.
- FASTING: Fast for six hours prior to your procedure – no food or fluids. However, you may take a small sip of water in the morning to consume any pre-surgery medication if necessary.
- ANTIHISTAMINE: Dr Murray has requested one Claratyne (antihistamine) to be taken the evening prior to your procedure. This can be purchased from your local supermarket or chemist.
- CLOTHING: For your comfort, please wear loose, dark, comfortable clothing with buttons on the front (e.g., a tracksuit). No tight jeans, pants, belts, or tight tops. Flat shoes only, please.
