How is a Fox Eye thread lift performed?

The Fox Eye Thread-lift is a non-surgical brow lift performed as an outpatient treatment, as no incisions are required. It works by gently elevating the outer brow using threads placed under the skin via fine treatments. These threads are designed with small cones or barbs to help hold the skin in position once inserted.

A local anesthetic or numbing cream can be applied prior to this. The procedure takes around 30 minutes, depending on the number of threads required. Usually, recovery time is minimal. You may notice some swelling and some bruising to the treated areas.

For longer lasting results or difficult brows a heavier and longer thread can be used.

Results do vary depending on individual muscle and skin condition.

While this treatment can be an option for those considering a surgical brow lift but wishing to trial a non-surgical approach first, it is generally less effective for patients over the age of 50, as advanced skin laxity and loss of elasticity are better addressed with surgical techniques.

What is The Mint Fine Thread?

The Mint Fine Threads made of a non-allergenic compound. On each suture, there are two series of helical 360-degree barbs. These barbs face in the opposite direction and are called Bidirectional. This gives better hold and tension when holding the skin on the face. The barbs are made of a Polydioxanone.

The Mint Easy Threads are a longer more robust thread.

Is a Fox Eye thread lift painful?

While thread lift cosmetic procedures are considered non-surgical, it’s important to note that, like other treatments, they may still involve some level of discomfort. There may still be mild soreness and swelling which is manageable depending on an individual’s pain tolerance. Over-the-counter pain reliever may help lessen the discomfort, but it is recommended to consult your doctor first. Additional treatments can sometimes reduce discomfort and increase the duration of results.

What happens after the Fox Eye Thread Lift procedure?

You will need to ice the area, but make sure the cold packs are not placed directly on the skin. Take Panadol 2-4 hourly for the next 2-hours. Do not apply makeup for 24-hours.

Ensure you sleep with an extra pillow on at least a 30-degree angle for 3-5 nights. Be very gentle in washing your face.

For the first 2-weeks, avoid sun exposure and tanning beds, contact sports, dentists, saunas and over-expression. Avoid significant massaging of your face for 4-weeks.

Risks & Results

What are the risks involved?

As with any invasive procedure, potential risks and complications are involved. Mild redness, swelling, bruising, pain, and tenderness can be expected at the site of the threads, which if occur, usually subside over a few days.

Puckering can occur immediately at the site of the thread or shortly following treatment, which generally resolves over a few days to weeks. Infection and other procedure complications are uncommon.

What results can you expect?

Immediate results can be seen once the threads have been inserted, however, the results will improve over the next 3-6 months. They are expected to last 12 months.

Immediately after the lifting and placements, there will be a series of treatment marks on each side of the face. These will remain visible for the rest of the day, although most people are able to cover them up the next day with make-up. Excess pulling will also be noted.

You may experience some bruising and swelling around the sutures, although this tends to be minor and short-lived. For up to a week after the procedure, it may feel tender around the sutures.
