See All Before & AfterHow long do Dermal Lip Fillers last?
The longevity of Dermal Lip Filler will depend on the filler used and how fast your metabolism is. Your body naturally metabolises filler as it is made from a naturally occurring product, so those with a higher metabolism, such as athletes, will find that their filler does not last as long.
As a guide, 1ml of dermal lip filler will usually last between 3 and 6 months, although some find that it can last up to 12 months.
Are Dermal Lip Filler Injections Painful?
All lip filler injections have a level of discomfort. We offer numbing cream and a local anaesthetic to all patients, and gas is available to very anxious people. Nerve blocks seem to be the most effective as local anaesthetic stops the sensation from the injections being transmitted to the pain sensors in the brain.
What Brand of Dermal Lip Filler Do We Use?
Due to Australian medical guidelines, we cannot mention the name of filler products on our website or social media.
We offer a wide range of dermal fillers suitable for lips, and we discuss product selection with patients at a consultation, meaning you do not need to decide on a product before your appointment. If you would like more information on dermal lip fillers or other dermal fillers, please email or call us on 9389 9099.

Downtime After Dermal Lip Filler Injections
There is no ‘downtime’ after Lip Fillers. However, you will experience swelling. The swelling will be most apparent 24-48 hours after the treatment. After 48 hours, the swelling will start to go down. You may notice slight bruising at this point. All swelling and bruising should be gone within 2 weeks of your treatment.
Lip Filler by Fat Transfer
Fat transfer involves the relocation of your own fatty tissue to address lines, wrinkles, and contours by enhancing volume in various areas of the body, including the lips.
*It’s important to recognise that any cosmetic surgical or invasive procedure comes with inherent risks and the possibility of complications. Therefore, before moving forward, we strongly recommend that you allocate time for thorough research, self-education, and consider seeking a second opinion from a qualified practitioner to make an informed decision.
Lip Filler With A Jett Plasma Lip Lift
Jett Plasma can also offer a non-surgical approach to lip augmentation. The Jett Plasma lip flip specifically targets the area above the upper lip, stimulating collagen production to cause a subtle tightening and eversion (outwards flip). This creates a fuller appearance and helps to define the shape of your lips.

WHAT ROLE DOES CAPILLARY REFILL TIME PLAY IN DERMAL FILLER PROCEDURES?
Assessing Vascular Health
A normal capillary refill time (typically less than 2 seconds) indicates healthy blood flow to the skin. This is crucial when considering areas for dermal lip filler injection to minimise the risk of complications.
Monitoring Post-Treatment
After dermal filler injections, monitoring capillary refill time can help identify any potential circulatory issues or complications.
