Using a combination of topical anaesthetic and targeted nerve blocks can greatly reduce or even eliminate pain, making the procedure far more comfortable at Absolute Cosmetic.

For patients undergoing Morpheus8, comfort can be significantly improved with the use of targeted nerve blocks. All major facial nerves can be safely numbed to reduce sensation in the treatment area, minimising discomfort during the procedure. We can also use a tumescent skin block over the neck and along the sternocleidomastoid muscle for treatments involving the lower face and neck. This is our complimentary pain management option available with all Morpheus8 sessions.
A topical numbing cream can be applied directly to the treatment area to help reduce surface-level discomfort. This cream works by temporarily blocking nerve signals in the skin and typically takes around 30 minutes to take effect.
We are licensed to administer Entonox gas, commonly known as “happy gas.” This option can be used alongside other pain management techniques to help you feel calm and comfortable during your treatment. Entonox wears off quickly, so you can resume normal activities shortly after your appointment. Entonox gas incurs an additional charge.
For selected patients, Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling may be incorporated with Lumecca intense pulsed light (IPL) to address both deeper dermal concerns and more superficial pigmentation or redness. This approach can support improvements in skin texture, firmness, and overall tone.
The timing and sequence of these treatments may vary. Some patients may benefit from sessions performed in close succession, while others may have them staged over time. The choice will depend on clinical assessment, individual skin type, and treatment goals. The Morpheus treatment always requires a consultation before treatment can commence. All combination protocols are tailored to the patient, with emphasis on safety, appropriate pre- and post-treatment care, and minimising downtime while optimising results.
Good candidates for Morpheus8 are patients who are looking to improve mild to moderate signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. It is suitable for most skin types and tones.
