What is a Thread Lift?
A thread lift, sometimes called a non‑surgical facelift, is a minimally invasive procedure that uses specialised dissolvable threads placed beneath the skin to change its position and provide structural support. This method can also stimulate collagen production in the treated areas, which may improve skin firmness over time.
For some individuals, a thread lift is considered an alternative to a surgical facelift, offering less downtime and no surgical incisions. It may be suitable for people in their mid‑30s to 50s, depending on skin quality, treatment goals, and overall health.

Our Thread Lift Options
1. Silhouette Soft Threads
Silhouette Soft Threads are made from a non‑allergenic, biocompatible material. Each suture has two series of cones positioned in opposite directions (bidirectional), which help anchor the skin. The cones are composed of a lactide‑glycolic mix, a material compatible with the human body.
2. PDO Mint Threads
PDO Mint Threads are made from polydioxanone (PDO), a complex sugar that has been used safely in medical sutures for many years. These threads have moulded barbs that anchor into the tissue, allowing repositioning of the skin and underlying fat pads. Over approximately 6–9 months, the threads are naturally absorbed by the body, with collagen forming in their place. This process may improve skin texture, elasticity, and fine lines in addition to the lifting effect.
Who is a suitable candidate?
It is particularly popular with patients in their 30s and 40s who either do not want to undergo a surgical thread lift or who are looking for a more subtle result. If you are a suitable candidate, we have several different thread lift options available.
Please Note: A consultation is needed with Dr Syed for this procedure.
How is the Non-Surgical Face Lift performed?
The procedure is performed as an outpatient treatment as no incisions are needed. The threads are placed under the skin via treatments. A local anesthetic or numbing cream can be applied prior to this. The procedure takes around 30-minutes, depending on the number of threads required. Usually, recovery time is minimal. You may notice some swelling and some bruising to the treated areas.
What results can you expect?
Subtle changes may be noticeable immediately after the procedure, with more pronounced results typically appearing after two to three months, depending on individual factors.
Immediately after the lifting and placements, there will be a series of treatment marks on each side of the face. These will remain visible for the rest of the day, although most people are able to cover them up the next day with make-up. Excess pulling will also be noted.
Bruising and swelling around the sutures may occur, but these side effects are generally mild and temporary, though individual experiences may vary.

Risks & Complications
Thread lift procedures are generally safe, but as with any cosmetic treatment, there are potential risks. Patients may experience temporary swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the treatment sites. In some cases, mild asymmetry, puckering of the skin, or thread visibility can occur as the tissues settle. Infection, allergic reactions, or longer-lasting irregularities are uncommon but possible. Results can vary between individuals, and in some instances, additional treatments may be required to achieve the desired outcome.
