Facelift Cost Perth: What Really Drives the Price

19 Sep 2026

Hi, Dr Murray here. People ask me about facelift costs in Perth more than almost anything else, and I get why. It’s not a simple number, and I’d rather tell you honestly why than just throw a figure at you and hope for the best.

A facelift is much more complex to work out the price of than most other procedures. With something like a breast augmentation, you’re largely paying for the implant and the surgery around it. With a facelift, we’re looking at three separate things in your face: your skin, the fat, and the muscle. Every one of those can need a different approach, and each add-on adds to the price.

How much does a facelift cost in Perth?

A straightforward mini lift, where it’s mostly muscle that’s loose rather than skin, starts from about $14,990. From there it can climb, and for a deeper, more comprehensive facelift you’re looking at up to $50,000. To put that in perspective, some clinics in the US charge up to $200,000 for comparable work, which is quite amazing when you think about it. Most patients in Perth land somewhere between those mini lift and full facelift figures, depending on exactly what their face needs for the look they are trying to achieve.

Why does facelift pricing vary so much?

It varies because we’re assessing three different layers, and each one can require its own technique. When we plan a facelift, it can be done through a short cut or a long cut, and that decision alone shifts the price. Then we start asking the follow-up questions:

Do you have skin damage as well as looseness? If so, you may choose to add an erbium laser to the plan, and that is an additional cost on top. Do you have fatty jowls and a fatty neck? That often calls for ultrasound-assisted VASER liposuction, which is another line item. Are you hollow in the temples and across the eyes, with lines running down toward the pre-jowl sulcus? That’s usually a case for fat transfer to restore the volume that’s gone missing. Stack a few of those together and the price can escalate quite quickly, even though each piece makes sense on its own.

How do I know what my facelift add ons might be?

You’ll usually get a good clue just by looking in the mirror and being honest about what’s bothering you. If it’s just a little looseness in the lower face (a lot of people assume that’s skin when it’s actually muscle), then you’re probably a candidate for a mini lift, which sits at the lower end of the price scale. If you’re noticing hollowing in the temples or under the eyes, that’s volume loss rather than sagging, and it points toward fat transfer rather than cutting. If your skin itself looks damaged, sun-worn, or crepey on top of the sagging, that may mean an erbium laser might be part of your plan. And if you’ve got fullness under the chin or along the jawline that won’t shift, that’s usually fat rather than skin, which is where VASER liposuction could be an additional cost.A proper consultation is really the only way to know your pricing options for certain, because most faces are a combination of two or three of these concerns and treatments, not just one.

What drives the price up unexpectedly?

The honest answer is add-ons that only become obvious once you have had an in person consultation. Nobody walks in wanting to spend more than they need to, and nobody should be surprised when they receive their invoice either. That’s why I go through each layer; skin, fat and muscle, with every patient before we land on a final quote. If you want to add on the erbium laser, the VASER work, and the fat transfer on top of the actual lift, you’re no longer looking at a mini lift price. You’re looking at something closer to a deeper facelift, which is why that range runs all the way up to $50,000.

There’s also a cost that has nothing to do with your face at all, and that’s where you have the surgery done. We do have extra overheads compared to some places. We’re cosmetically credentialed, and we operate a fully Health Department–licensed day surgery. That adds to our costs, but it’s also important for patient safety. If you go to a place that isn’t licensed and isn’t fully insured, you might pay less initially, however this could add to your potential risks and end up costing you more in the long run.

Treatment options, from least to most involved

Mini lift. This addresses muscle laxity in the lower face and neck without the more extensive cutting a full facelift needs. It’s the entry point, from about $14,990, and it suits people whose main issue is muscle looseness rather than skin damage or volume loss.

Mini lift plus erbium laser. If your skin has sun damage or texture issues alongside the looseness, adding an erbium resurfacing treatment to the same session addresses both at once, though it does add to the cost.

Mini lift plus VASER liposuction. For fatty jowls or a fatty neck, ultrasound-assisted VASER liposuction removes that stubborn fat as part of the same procedure, refining the jawline further.

Mini lift plus fat transfer. Where temples, under-eyes, or the pre-jowl area have hollowed out, fat transfer restores volume using your own tissue rather than a synthetic filler.

Deep or full facelift. For more significant skin excess, sagging, and structural change, a longer-cut, deeper facelift addresses the face more comprehensively. You can read more about our deep plane facelift technique if that’s the level you’re considering. These procedures run up to around $50,000, particularly once combined with the add-ons above.

Most patients end up somewhere in between, combining a lift with one or two of the extras rather than needing everything at once.

Don’t forget the cost of aftercare

Good aftercare is essential, and it’s genuinely one of the things people underestimate. This is one of the big problems with tourist surgery or travel surgery: you’ve got no one to look after you once you’re home, and six weeks is usually when problems may arise.. That’s exactly the window when you want someone local, contactable, and familiar with your case.

At our clinic, that support looks like a 24 hour, seven day a week, 365 day a year emergency after-hours line, so there’s always a number to call. You’ve also got nurses you can video call and actually see, and we book you in regularly through the healing process, usually day one, day two, one week, two weeks, three weeks and four weeks. That level of follow-up is expensive to run properly, but it’s also what helps catch small issues before they become big ones. So don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want to understand exactly what your aftercare would look like.

FAQ

How much does a facelift cost in Perth?

Prices generally start from about $14,990 for a mini lift and can reach up to $50,000 for a deeper facelift with additional procedures included.

What’s included in the price of a facelift?

The base price covers the surgical lift itself. Skin resurfacing, liposuction to the jowls or neck, and fat transfer for volume loss are quoted as separate add-ons depending on what is recommended to achieve your goals.

Why do some facelifts cost so much more than others?

Cost depends on how many of the three facial layers, skin, fat and muscle, need treatment, and whether extras like erbium laser, VASER liposuction, or fat transfer are added to the base procedure.

Is a mini facelift cheaper than a full facelift?

Yes. A mini lift addressing muscle laxity alone starts from around $14,990, while a deeper facelift with more extensive work can run up to $50,000.

Does facelift aftercare cost extra?

Comprehensive aftercare, including 24/7 emergency support and scheduled nurse reviews over the first month, is factored into the overall cost and is one of the areas where cutting corners can be risky.

Why choose a licensed day hospital over a cheaper clinic?

A fully Health Department–licensed facility adds to the upfront cost but provides a level of safety, insurance, and accountability that unlicensed or overseas clinics can’t guarantee.
